Eggless Orange Cake Recipe


During my school days, I had great liking for orange cake and I used to have it quite often. But its been ages since I had a slice of this orange cake. So finally decided to try this eggless version of orange cake recipe today. This would definitely be one of the favorites for all those who likes orange flavour. The preparatory phase of this recipe is relatively simple and the outcome will be a super delicious and aromatic orange cake. I would want to explore more of eggless baking recipes.

Orange Cake Without Egg[5]

Eggless Orange Cake Recipe
Preparation Time : 15 Minutes
Baking Time : 25- 30 Minutes
Yields : 12- 15 Pieces


Plain Flour 1 + 1/4 Cups
Baking Powder 1 Teaspoon
Baking Soda 1/2 Teaspoon
Sugar 3 Tablespoons
Sweetened Condensed Milk 3/4 Cup
Fresh Orange Juice 1/2 Cup
Vinegar/ Lemon Juice 1 Teaspoon
Orange Extract / Vanilla Extract 1 Teaspoon
Melted Butter 1/2 Cup
Orange Zest 1/2 Teaspoon

Preparation Method
Grate the orange skin gently to get around 1/2 teaspoon of zest.Extract 1/2 cup of fresh orange juice. Mix orange juice, orange zest, vinegar, orange extract/ Vanilla extract.

To this add, melted butter, sugar, condensed milk and mix well.

To this mixture, sift together plain flour, baking powder and baking soda. Mix them all together so that there are no lumps.

Grease a cake pan with butter and dust them with little flour.

Pour in the cake mixture to the pan and level them. Meanwhile preheat the oven to 180 degree Celsius. Place the cake pan in the oven and bake them for 25 – 30 minutes or until it is ready.

Remove the cake pan from the oven and allow it to cool down for 5 minutes. Then gently push the cake from the pan and reverse them on the cooling rack. Allow the cake to cool down completely and then slice the cake to preferred shape.

Instead of butter, same quantity of vegetable oil/ sunflower oil can also be added.
I used self raising plain flour, so did not add baking powder and baking soda.
This cake can be decorated with either store bought or homemade icing. I prefer to have it without icing.
Baking time can slightly vary based on the oven that you will be using.
