Moong Dal Cake

I came across this moong dal recipe in one of the TV shows. Found it very simple and quick to prepare. So took a quick note of this recipe and have been waiting to try that out. Finally after long time, tried it last evening. It took me only 20 minutes to finish this recipe. We both liked it as this cake contains mild sweetness. Enjoyed this cake along with hot samosas last evening.

Moong Dal Sweet Recipe

 

Moong Dal Cake Recipe
Preparation Time : 10 Minutes
Cooking Time : 20 Minutes
Yields : 12-15 Nos
Ingredients
Moong Dhal 1 /2 Cup
All Purpose Flour 2 Tablespoons
Sugar 1/2 Cup + 2 Tablespoons
Coconut Milk 1/2 Cup
Vanilla Essence 1/2 Teaspoon


Preparation Method
Cook and mash the moong dal and keep it ready.

In a pan add coconut milk, immediately add sugar and all purpose flour.
Then add the well mashed dal and stir well.

Keep stirring still the mixture starts to boil. 
At some point it will reach a stage where it doesn’t stick to the walls of the pan. At this stage add the vanilla essence and mix well.
Meanwhile grease a tray with ghee and keep it ready.  When the mixture is completely cooked transfer it to the tray and allow it to cool down and then cut them into slices of desired shape.

Notes
Make sure the coconut milk is thick.
Cook the moong dhal in a open pan till it is cooked soft and drain the water and mash the cooked dhal well when it is still hot.
This cake cannot be stored for more than 2 days.
