Crispy Ladiesfinger Fry Recipe

Okra Recipes are my all time favorite. I buy okra almost everytime during the vegetable shopping. Most frequently I used to make sambar, poriyal or kuzhambu with okra. For a change, I made this crispy okra fry and it got vanished in no time. I opted to shallow fry as I do not want to use lots of oil. Even then it turned out so crsipy. It can be even served as a starter or as a side for some flavored rice.

Crispy Bhindi Fry Recipe

Crispy Okra Fry Recipe
Preparation Time : 15 Minutes
Cooking Time : 15 Minutes
Serves : 2


Okra 250 Grams
Chilli Powder 1 Teaspoon
Turmeric Powder 1/4 Teaspoon
Coriander Powder 1 Teaspoon
Amchoor Powder 1/4 Teaspoon
Garam Masala 1/4 Teaspoon
Besan/ Gram Flour 1.5 Tablespoon
Salt To Taste
Oil 1 – 2 Tablespoons

Preparation Method
wash the okra and wipe the water completely with a paper towel or cotton cloth. Make sure there are no traces of water. Cut them into two halves and spread them on a plate.

Mix all the powders except besan and oil and spread the powder over the okra and start mixing. Do not add any water.

After the spices are coated well, then add besan and start mixing till it is coated well on the okra.

Allow it to marinate for 20 – 30 minutes. Then heat a tawa and add oil. Once it is hot, add the  oil and wait till it turns hot.Then place the okra on the tawa and start frying. When one side is cooked turn it over to the other side and fry till it turns crispy. Make sure the flame is kept below medium throughout the frying process. Transfer it to a plate and serve hot.
