Milk Peda Recipe | Doodh Peda Recipe

Doodh Peda Recipe

Milk peda | doodh peda is my most favorite sweets since my childhood days. Quite often, my dad used to get this sweet which will have a beautiful flower design on the top. Just love the taste of those milk peda. Its been a while since I had milk peda so thought of giving it a go at home. The recipe is super easy with just 3 ingredients. I added saffron as I like kesar flavor, however it tastes good even without saffron. This sweet will be a good option to prepare and pack while visiting friends or relatives. I am sure they will love it.

Milk Peda Recipe Step 1
Turn on the flame and place the tawa. Keep mixing.
Milk Peda Recipe Step 2
Add ghee and saffron and keep mixing in low flame.
Milk Peda Recipe Step 3
The mixture tend to become thin, keep mixing till it reaches the consistency where it doesnot stick to the walls of the tawa.
Milk Peda Recipe Step 4
It reaches a stage where the whole mixture comes together without sticking and if you touch, it will not stick to your fingers. At that stage turn off the flame and allow it to cool down a bit.

Milk Peda Recipe Step 5

When it is still warm, take a ball of  mixture and roll them using a rolling pin (like we do for roti). If you prefer getting some nice shapes, cut the rolled mixture using a cookie cutter of you choice and remove them and place them on a tray. Repeat this process till the whole mixture is done.
Milk Peda Recipe Step 6
Alternatively, you can split the mixture into equal sized balls and press them slightly on the top to make a small dent. If you prefer, you can add some sliced nuts on the top of each peda. Allow the peda to cool down completely and then transfer it to air tight container.
