Prawn Vadai Recipe

Eral Vadai Recipe

I came across this prawn vadai recipe in one of the cookery books. Since then, it was in my wish list and finally managed to make it a week back. This recipe is almost similar to the masala vadai recipe, but in addition to that it will have a taste and flavour of prawns. Instead of trying the usual prawn recipes, this will be a different one to taste. It can be served with Rasam rice, sambar rice or curd rice. It can also be served as tea time snack.

Prawn Snack Recipe

Prawn Vadai Recipe
Preparation Time : 15 Minutes
Cooking Time : 10 Minutes
Yields : 10 Nos (Medium sized)

Ingredients

Channa Dhal 1/3 Cup
Prawns 150 Grams
Onion 1 No (Chopped)
Green Chillies 1 No (Chopped)
Ginger Garlic Paste 1 Teaspoon
Curry Leaves A Strig
Turmeric Powder 1/4 Teaspoon
Chilli Powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Salt To Taste
Oil For Frying

Preparation Method

Wash and soak channa dhal for 2 hours. Drain the water completely and grind them to a coarse mixture.

Also grind the prawns to a coarse paste and mix it with the ground channa dhal.

To this mixture, add onion, ginger garlic paste, green chillies.

Also add turmeric powder, chilli powder, curry leaves and salt and mix well.

Divide the mixture into equal sized balls.

Gently flatten the balls in the shape of vada and drop it slowly into the hot oil.

Fry them till both sides turns into golden brown colour. Drain the oil and transfer it to a plate and enjoy.
