Instant Bonda Recipe

Instant bonda is a real quick snack that doesn’t take more than 10 minutes. During times, when I want to prepare some easy tea time snack, I would prefer this bonda recipe. As most of us used to store idly dosa batter, this snack will be a good option. If I don’t want to go for deep fried snack,I used to make Kara paniyaram with left over batter. Both bonda and paniyaram tastes great and are filling snacks too. Bonda can be served with coconut chutney.

Instant Bonda Recipe Step 1

Heat a pan and add oil. Once it is hot, add mustard. After it splutters, add curry leaves, green chillies, onion, ginger and fry for a minute. Transfer the tempered items to the batter.
Add salt only if require. If you have already added salt to the batter, do not add much.
Instant Bonda Recipe Step 2
Mix well and add water in small quantity if require. I kept the consistency that is similar to idly batter. Heat a tawa and add oil sufficient enough for frying. Take a small laddle full of batter and slowly pour in the oil. Repeat the process and pour around 2 – 3 bondas. Wait till it gets fried and the colour changes to golden brown. Do not fry them in very high flame.
