Kovakkai Poriyal Recipe

Tindora/ Kovakkai/ Dondakaya Poriyal is a very simple recipe. I have seen lots of this kovakkai on the riverside of my periamma’s village. But then, we never knew that this vegetable can be cooked. I have tasted it couple of times in my college hostel and in restaurants and didn’t have any liking towards this. It was only after my mom cooked it, I realized how tasty it could be. It resembles aubergine/ egg plant a lot. But the difference is, it takes quite longer to get cooked. I also heard that it has got lot of nutritional values. Whenever, I find it fresh in the store, I will buy and cook.
