Paneer Tikka in Oven Recipe

I wanted to try Paneer tikka recipe since longtime. I kept postponing this recipe as I thought that it is tough to prepare and moreover it will not turn out as good as the paneer tikka which we get in restaurants. Finally made up my mind and tried it once and it came out too good. But then I did not click Pictures. So made it again recently and clicked these pictures. Whenever I have store bought paneer, I used to make either Paneer Butter masala or Paneer 65. At times I make paneer at home, if I have too much of milk in stock. With homemade paneer, I prefer making Paneer Bhurji. Both of us have great liking for paneer and I keep making one or the other paneer dishes very frequently.  Would love to have this paneer tikka as a starter.

Keep the skewers in a pan layerd with foil and brush some oil on the top and place the tray in the  oven. Allow it to cook till the paneer is cooked well.It took around 15 minutes for me. If required just rotate the skewers in between for even cooking. Once it is cooked, carefully remove the tray from the oven and serve hot.

If you are using wooden skewers, just soak them in water for 30 minutes before using. So that it don’t get burnt while keeping in the oven.

Adding ajwain seeds is optional. If you don’t like the flavor it can be skipped.

Make sure the curd is thick. Hung curd is most preferred.
