Rava Ladoo Recipe | Festival Sweet Recipes

Rava Ladoo is my husband’s favorite. Though I knew that the preparation is very simple and can be done with the minimal number of ingredients, I kept postponing. Very recently when I was browsing for some easy sweet recipes, I came across a picture of  Rava Ladoo. Without browsing further, I went ahead with the preparation of it. It can be prepared as soft and smooth Ladoos or with coarse grainy texture. In this recipe, I have tried the soft version of it. Will also post the grainy version once I prepare it.

Semolina/ Sooji/ Rava 1 Cup
Sugar 1 Cup
Ghee 1/4 Cup
Cashew Nuts 1o Nos
Cardamom Powder A Pinch

Preparation Method

  • Heat a heavy bottomed pan and add 1 teaspoon of ghee.
  • Once it is hot, break the cashews into small pieces and fry till golden brown and keep it aside.
  • In the same pan, add the sooji/ rava and roast them till a nice aroma comes. Make sure it doesn’t get charred. Keep stirring for even roasting.
  • Allow it to cool down completely.

  • Transfer the roasted rava to the mixer jar and add sugar cardamom powder. Grind them to a fine powder.
  • Transfer the contents to a wide bowl.
  • Add the fried cashews and mix well.

  • Melt the ghee and add them to the mixture.
  • Mix everything together and make small balls of equal size. If the balls cannot be shaped well sprinkle some milk and then try it again. I did not add milk as I wanted to store it for more days.

  • Make equal sized balls with all the mixture and transfer it to an air tight container.
