Roasted Channa Dhal Recipe | Snack Recipes

Roasted Channa Dhal has been my favorite snack that I prefer to munch since my school days. Its very simple to make and can be stored for a week in an air tight container. Can be served with Tea / Coffee in the evening.

Channa Dhal 1 Cup
Curry leaves A Strig
Garlic 3 Nos
Chilli Powder 1 Teaspoon
Turmeric Powder 1/4 Teaspoon
Salt To Taste
Oil For Frying
Preparation Method
  • Wash and soak the channa dhal for around 3 hours.
  • Drain the water and pat dry the channa dhal till the moisture is completely absorbed.
  • Heat oil in a pan and once it is hot, add the dried channa dhal and fry them till it turns to nice golden brown colour.
  • If the channa dhal is completely roasted, the sound will be stopped completely.
  • At that stage, remove the roasted dhal and spread them on a paper towel to absorb the excess oil.
  • Fry all the channa dhal in batches and keep it ready.
  • Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt .
  • In a small pan add 1/2 teaspoon of oil and add the curry leaves and crushed garlic and fry them for a minute.
  • Transfer it to the roasted channa dhal, mix well and once it gets cooled down, transfer it to air tight container and enjoy.
