Prawn Rice Recipe

When I looked back to my recent posts, I could see that it has been long time since I posted non-vegetarian recipes. So I am here with another simple and filling recipe with prawns. In my school and college days, I never ever touched the prawn dishes. Though I never tasted it, for some reasons I had a weird thought that it wont taste good. But one of my friends forced me to try it once stating that I will definitely like it. It was by then I became a fan of it and been cooking prawns atleast once a week.

Cooked rice 1 Cup
Prawns 100 Grams
Onion 1 No
Green Chillies 1 No
Garlic 3 Pods
Cumin Seeds 1 Teaspoon
Curry leaves A Sprig
Turmeric Powder A Pinch

Preparation Method
  • Wash the prawn and keep it ready.
  • In a pan add oil and once it is hot, add cumin seeds.
  • After it splutters, add chopped green chillies, curry leaves and garlic. Saute them for few second.

  • Add chopped onion and saute till it changes to light brown colour.
  • Add turmeric, chilli powder, salt and then add the washed prawns.
  • Mix well and close it with a lid and cook for 7 – 10 minutes.
