Masala Kadalai Recipe | Peanuts | Easy Snack Recipes

I always had a greater liking for peanuts be it in any form. I believe there are too many recipes that can be prepared with Peanuts and I am in the process of trying one after the other. This masala kadalai can not only be served as a snack, but also as a side dish for rice varieties, especially for curd rice. I prepared a box full of it and we enjoy having it while watching movies at home.

Ingredients
Peanuts 1 Cup
Besan / Gram Flour 1/2 Cup
Rice flour 2 Tablespoons
Asafoetida A Pinch
Chilli Powder 2 Teaspoons
Cumin seeds / Cumin Powder 2 Teaspoons
Curry leaves A Strig
Salt To Taste
Oil For Frying

Preparation Method
  • Take peanuts in a bowl and add besan, rice flour, salt, asafoetida, curry leaves, cumin seeds, Chilli powder and mix well.

  • Add water little by little and mix well till the masala gets coated well on the peanuts.
  • Heat a tawa and add oil. Once it is hot, add the masala coated peanuts little by little.
  • Gently stir the oil so that the peanuts do not stick with each other.
  • Fry them till it changes to nice golden brown color.

  • Drain the oil and transfer it to a container. Repeat the process and fry all the peanuts in batches.
  • Allow it to cool down completely before transferring it to a box. It takes atleast 10 – 15 minutes to become crispier. So serve it after 15 minutes to enjoy the crispy masala peanuts.
