Vegetable Uthappam Recipe | Breakfast Recipes

Uthappam is a very common south Indian recipe. Many of us would have tasted different varieties of uthappam. I have tried it with mixture of vegetables that I had at home. It added a nice flavor to the uthappam and tasted yummy.

Dosa Batter 2 Cups
Onion 1 No
Tomato 1 No
Green Peas 1/4 Cup
Breans 1/4 Cup
Mushroom 1/2 Cup
Cilantro / Coriander leaves A Fistful (Chopped)
Cumin seeds 1 Teaspoon
Chilli Powder 1 Teaspoon
Salt To taste
Oil 1 – 2 Tablespoons

Preparation Method
  • Heat a tawa and add oil. Once it is hot, add cumin seeds and wait for it to splutter.
  • Add chopped onion and saute them well.
  • Add chopped tomato and cook till it becomes mushy.

  • add green peas and cook for 2 minutes. Then add chopped beans, mix well and cook for 5 minutes.

  • Add chopped mushroom and cook till the mushroom gets cooked.
  • Add salt and chilli powder. Mix well and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Finally add the chopped cilantro. Mix well and transfer the contents to a bowl and keep it ready.

  • Heat a dosa tawa and spread a laddle full of dosa batter in a circular shape.
  • Let it be little thick.

  • Sprinkle the masala on the top of the spreaded batter and gently press them with a spoon or a flat laddle so that the masala gets stuck to the batter.
  • Sprinkle few drops of oil around the dosa and wait for it to get cooked.

  • Once the one side is cooked completely, slowly flip the dosa and wait till the other side gets cooked.
  • Transfer it to a plate and serve hot with chutney of your choice.
