Vegetable Tempura Recipe | Batter Fried Vegetables

I got introduced to this recipe very recently when we went to a Thai Restaurant. Since then, it has been added to our favorites recipes list. So I thought of giving it a try at home. I browsed through couple of sites and prepared it in my own way. I was very happy that it came out very similar to what we had in the restaurant.

Mixed Vegetables (Carrot, cabbage, cauliflower, potato, onion) 1 Cup (Cut into pieces)
All Purpose flour 1/2 Cup
Chilli Powder 1 Teaspoon

Water 1/2 Cup

  • Slowly add the water and oil and mix well till it becomes soft without any lumps.

  • Keep the mixture in refrigerator for 10 – 15 minutes.
  • After taking it out, keep the bowl in a plate filled with ice cubes. If required add an ice cube to the batter so that it remains chill.
  • Meanwhile heat a tawa / wok and fill with oil enough for frying.
  • Add the vegetables one by one into the batter. Dip them well and drop slowly into the hot oil.
  • Fry them till it turns into nice golden brown,
