Chilli Onion Prawns Recipe | Prawn Recipes

I have tasted different prawn recipes so far. I wanted to try a mutton recipe (Uppu Kari in Tamil) which my mom makes frequently. So I replaced mutton with prawns and made it for lunch yesterday. It is a very simple and quick recipe with no compromise on the taste. It was tasting just awesome and had it with pepper rasam and rice.



Ingredients
Raw Prawns 150 Grams
Shallots 10 Nos (Cut lengthwise)
Red Chillies 5 – 6 Nos
Salt To Taste
Oil 1 Tablespoon

Preparation Method
  • Wash the prawns and keep it ready.
  • Break the red chillies into 3 –4 pieces and remove the seeds and keep it aside.
  • Heat a pan and add oil. Once it is hot, add the cut shallots and saute them well by adding required salt.

  • When the onion turns into light brown colour, add the red chillies and cook them for 2  minutes.

  • Add the cleaned prawns and cook for 3 minutes. Once the prawn colour is changed completely, add 2 tablespoons of water and close the pan with a lid and cook for 7 – 10 minutes.

  • The prawn gets cooked well with the nice flavour of onion and chilli.
  • Transfer it to a bowl and serve with hot rice and rasam.
