Tomato Dosa Recipes | Thakkali Dosai

Tomato Dosa is a very colorful and attractive recipe that best suits for either breakfast or dinner. Unlike normal dosa, this batter need not be fermented. Dosa can be made as soon as the batter is grinded. Instead of having the usual dosa, this type of dosa can be tried once in a while.


Ingredients
Idly Rice 1 Cup
Tomato 200 Grams
Fennel Seeds 1 Teaspoon
Red Chillies 8 – 10 Nos
Salt To Taste
Oil For Dosa

Preparation Method
  • Wash and soak the rice for 2 – 3 hours.
  • Grind the rice. Towards the end, add chopped tomato, fennel seeds, red chillies, salt and grind to a dosa batter consistency.
  • Transfer the batter to a bowl.
  • Heat a dosa tawa and once it is hot, pur a laddle full of batter in the center and spread gently to a thin dosa.
  • Sprinkle some oil towards the corners.
  • Wait till one side of the dosa gets cooked.

  • Slowly turn it to the other side and wait till it gets cooked.
  • Transfer it to a plate and serve with chutney of your choice.
