French Fries Recipe | Shallow Fry French Fries

French Fries has always been my favourite and I will never say No to it. I wanted to try french fries at home. At the same time I do not want to deep fry them as I do not want to reuse the same oil. So thought of doing a shallow fry.I just used a tablespoon of oil and the outcome was great and my hubby couldn’t find the difference until I told him that I did shallow fry.


Ingredients
Potato 2 Nos
Pepper Powder 1 Teaspoon
Salt To Taste
Oil 1 Tablespoon

Preparation Method
  • Peel off the potato skin and cut them into long pieces (Finger like)
  • Wash it off around 4 –5 times till you get a clear water out of washing.
  • Boil the washed potato pieces in water for 5 –7 minutes till it gets half cooked.
  • Now drain the water completely pat dry them in paper towel for 10 minutes.

  • Heat a pan and add a tablespoon of oil. Once it is hot, add the potato pieces and mix them gently.
  • Make sure it does not get broken. Keep the flame in medium and give a gentle mix now and then.

  • Wait till it turns to light golden brown colour and crispy.
  • Finally sprinkle some salt and pepper powder.
  • Transfer it to the plate and serve hot with Ketchup or sauce of your choice.
