Fish Thokku Recipe | Fish Recipes

Whenever we buy tilapia fillets, I often end up in making the usual fish fry. But this time I made up my mind not to do a fry out of it. When I was thinking of what else to try, nothing came up initially. So I thought of making thokku in my own way. To my surprise it turned out very tasty and everyone in my family liked it. It goes well along with sambar/ Rasam/ Curd rice.



Ingredients
Tilapia Fillets 2 Nos
Onion 1 No (Chopped)
Tomato 1 No (Chopped)
Curry Leaves A Strig
Fennel Seeds 1/2 Teaspoon
Green Chillies 2 Nos
Turmeric Powder 1/4 Teaspoon
Chilli Powder 1 Teaspoon
Coriander Powder 1 Teaspoon
Salt To Taste
Oil 1 Tablespoon

Preparation Method
  • Wash the fillets and add them to the boiling water by adding salt and turmeric.
  • Cook the fish till it turns white colour.

  • When the fish turns white drain the water and take it out and keep it ready.
  • Slightly mash the cooked fish and keep it aside.

  • Heat a pan and add oil Once it is hot, add fennel seeds, curry leaves and fry them well.
  • Add onion, green chillies, salt and saute them till it turns to light brown colour.
  • Add tomatoes and cook till it becomes mushy.
