Egg Bonda Recipe
I tasted Muttai Bonda for the first time  just couple of years back when I went for a movie. My uncle got some snack in the interval. Until I took a bite of it, I was thinking it to be aloo bonda. It was completely new to me and I liked it very much. Since then, I wanted to try making this egg bonda at home, but somehow it didn’t happen. Atlast tried it today and enjoyed having it as a snack. This can also be served with rice, sambar as rasam. Instead of having the boiled egg as it is, it will be good to make bonda out of it. The preparation is very simple and will be a very filling snack. It don’t require any sauces, but still if you prefer, can have it with ketchup or mint chuntey.

Egg Bhajji Recipe

Egg Bonda Recipe
Preparation Time  : 10 Minutes
Cooking Time      : 15 Minutes
Serves  : 3

Ingredients

Egg 3 Nos
Gram Flour / Besan 1/2 Cup
Rice Flour 1 Tablespoon
Chilli Powder 1/4 Tablespoon
Salt To Taste
Oil For Frying
Asafoetida (Optional) A Pinch
Preparation Method

Boil the eggs. Remove the shell and cut into two halves and have it ready. In a bowl, mix gram flour, rice flour, salt, chilli powder.

Add water little by little and make it as a thick batter.

Dip the cut egg piece and make sure it is coated on all sides with the batter.

Heat oil in a pan and drop the coated egg in to the oil. Fry them till it turns golden brown and then transfer to the plate and serve.

Notes

Make sure the batter is little thick than the usual bhajji batter so that it gets coated on the egg.

If you prefer, you can add a pinch of cooking soda or 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder. I did not add either in this preparation.
