Green Peas Masala Recipe | Side Dish for Chapathi

Green peas masala is a perfect combo for rotis. This is my first attempt of cooking this recipe and it did come out well. From now on, if I have to prepare a  quick curry for roti, this would be my choice.

Green Peas 1 Cup
Onion 1 No
Tomato 1 No
Green Chillies 2 Nos
Ginger A Small Piece
Cumin Seeds 1/2 Teaspoon
Turmeric Powder A Pinch
Chilli Powder 1 Teaspoon
Garam Masala 1/4 Teaspoon
Cilantro/ Coriander leaves For Garnishing
Salt To Taste
Oil 1 Tablespoon
Ghee 1/4 Tablespoon

Preparation Method
  • Grind ginger, green chillies, cumin seeds to a coarse paste and keep it aside.
  • Mix oil and ghee and heat them in a tawa.

  • Once it is hot, add the ground paste to it and fry for few seconds.
  • Add chopped onion and saute them well.
  • Add chopped tomatoes and saute till it gets cooked completely.

  • Add turmeric powder, salt, chilli powder and mix well.
  • Add green peas, close it with a lid and cook for 2 minutes.

  • Add water to the required consistency and bring it to boil.
  • Add salt and garam masala. Mix well.

  • Finally add chopped cilantro and turn off the flame.
  • Transfer to the bowl and serve with rotis.
