Blackgram Sundal Recipe | Healthy Recipes

During my schooldays, a grandma used to sell different varieties of homemade sundals in the evening. My cousin used to buy those very frequently. One day, she got blackgram sundal and she insisted that it is very good for health. I just tasted a little and after that I completely forgot about this sundal. Last week when I saw blackgram in the grocery store, it reminded me of its health benefits and I grabbed one packet and made it…

Here is the recipe…

Blackgram 1 Cup
Mustard 1/2 Teaspoon
Curry leaves A Strig
Onion 1 No
Green Chillies 2 Nos
Grated coconut 1 Tablespoon
Salt To Taste
Oil 1/4 Tablespoon
Preparation Method
  • Wash and soak blackgram in water for around 8 hours or overnight.
  • Cook the blackgram till it becomes soft.
  • In a pan, add oil. Once it is hot, add mustard and wait for it to splutter.
  • Then add curry leaves, chopped green chilies and onion. Saute them for couple of minutes.

  • Transfer the tempered items to the cooked blackgram and add salt. Mix everything together.
  • Finally add grated coconut and then mix it again.
  • Transfer it to the bowl and serve.
