Idly Milagai Podi

Chutney powder / Idly Milagai podi is the best combination for idly and dosas. Podi Dosa is one of my favourite. Idly milagai podi with seasame oil will be very yummy. I just love its smell! There are different versions of this. Today I am sharing the simple version of this recipe.
Ingredients

Red Chillies 5 – 7 Nos
Urad Dhal 1/2 Cup
Channa Dhal 1/2 Cup
Asafoetida A Pinch
Salt To Taste
Oil 1/2 Teaspoon

Preparation Method
  • Heat a pan and add oil. Once it is hot, add red chillies and fry them till it turns to dark red colour.
  • Transfer it to a plate. In the same pan add urad dhal and add them till it turns to light brown colour.

  •    Transfer it to a plate. Add channa dhal and fry them till it turns to brown colour. Add asafoetida, rock salt and transfer to a plate.

  • Allow it to cool down and them grind them to a fine powder.
  • After it cools down transfer it to an air tight container and use it when required.
