Apple Halwa recipe was shared by my mom. The colour and texture resembles the usual wheat halwa. No Artificial food colour is required to this recipe, as apple itself will get a natural colour when it is grounded.

Apple 3 Nos
Sugar 1 Cup
Ghee 3 – 4 Tablespoons
Cashew 10 Nos
Cardamom Powder A Pinch


Preparation Method
  • Wash the apples, peel off the skin and cut them into small pieces.
  • Grind the cut apples into a fine paste and have it ready.

  • Heat a pan and add ghee. When it is hot, add cashew and fry them till it turns light brown colour.
  • Transfer it to a plate and in the same pan add the ground apple and fry it till all the water gets evaporated.

  • Once it becomes thick, add the sugar and mix well.
  • Add cardamom powder and keep stirring by adding ghee little by little till it reaches halwa consistency without sticking on to the sides.

  • Finally add the fries cashews and turn off the flame.
  • Transfer to the bowl for serving.
