Wheat Rava Roast


Wheat Rava dosa is almost similar like ordinary rava dosa except for slight change in proportion and replacing maida with wheat flour. In this recipe I have added equal proportion of sooji and wheat flour and little rice flour. The dosa was very crispy and the taste was awesome. 


Sooji/ Rava 2 Cups
Wheat Flour 2 Cups
Rice Flour 1/2 Cup
Cumin Seeds 1 Tablespoon
Asafoetida A Pinch
Green Chillies 3 Nos
Curry leaves 2 Strigs
Salt To Taste
Oil As Required
Water 9 Cups (Approximately)


Preparation Method
  • Mix sooji, rice flour,wheat flour together.
  • Add Asafoetida, salt & cumin seeds and mix everything together.
  • Add 8 – 9 cups of water little by little and mix it well without any lumps formation.
  • Chop green chillies and curry leaves and keep it ready.
  • Leave the mixture for atleast 30 minutes.

  • After 30 minutes, add the chopped green chillies and curry leaves to the mixture and mix them well.
  • Take a tawa and grease it with oil.
  • Once it is hot, take the batter in a large laddle and pour it on the dosa tawa from little high.
  • Keep the flame as medium throughout the dosa making.
  • Do not spread like normal dosa. Just pour the batter from little height into a round shape.
  • While pouring the batter just make sure, you are not pouring in the same place again. The holes will be formed automatically.

  • Pour 1/2 tablespoon of oil around the dosa.
  • Wait till it gets cooked.
  • Wait till the outermost corner of the dosa changes to light brown colour.
  • At this stage, turn the dosa and wait till the other side gets cooked.
  • It will take a minute for the other side to get cooked.
  • Then transfer it to the plate and serve with chutney of your choice.
