Royyalu Vepudu | Andhra Prawn Masala

I think this is my first blog about Andhra recipes. I always had liking towards Andhra dishes, especially non vegetarian items. So I tried cooking prawn in Andhra style. I would say that, this is the best prawn recipe I have tried so far. Really mouthwatering dish Smile


Ingredients

Prawns 200 grams
Red Chillies 2 Nos
Green Chillies 1 No
Onion 1 No (Finely Chopped)
Tomatoes 1 No (Finely Chopped)
Ginger Garlic Paste 1 Tablespoon
Curry Leaves 2 Strigs
Turmeric Powder A Pinch
Chilli Powder 1/2 Tablespoon
Coriander Powder 1/2 Tablespoon
Mustard 1/4 Tablespoon
Salt To Taste
Oil 2 Tablespoons

Preparation Method
  • Clean the prawns and wash it for atleast 3 – 4 times.
  • Heat a pan and add oil. Once it is hot, add mustard and red chillies.
  • When it start spluttering, add curry leaves.
  • Add chopped onion and saute them well for 2 minutes.

  • Add ginger garlic paste and fry till the raw smell goes off.
  • Add tomato and also add the required salt and cook them till the tomatoes becomes mushy.

  • Add Turmeric powder, chilli powder, corainder powder and cook till the raw smell goes off.
  • Add prawns and mix everything together.

  • Cook the prawns well. Do not add any water while cooking the prawns.
  • Transfer to the plate and serve.
