Quick Carrot Poriyal


Carrot poriyal is one of the easiest recipe and it hardly takes 10 minutes to prepare it. It goes well with rice, sambar and rasam.

Carrot 1 Cup (Grated)
Onion 1 No (Chopped)
Green Chillies 2 Nos (Chopped)
Cumin Seeds/Jeera 1/2 Tablespoon
Mustard 1/4 Tablespoon
Turmeric Powder A Pinch
Salt To Taste
Oil 1 Tablespoon

Preparation Method
  • Heat a pan and add a tablespoon of oil.
  • Once the oil is hot, add mustard, cumin seeds and allow it to splutter.
  • Add onion, Green chillies and saute for 2 minutes.
  • Add turmeric powder and mix well.

  • Add the grated carrot and mix everything together and cook for 5 minutes by adding salt.
  • Turn off the flame and transfer it to a bowl for serving.
