Pachapayaru | Green Gram Kozhukatai

Here comes another healthy and tasty recipe made of green gram.


Ingredients

Green Gram 1 Cup
Onion 1 No (Chopped)
Green Chillies 2 Nos
Curry Leaves 1 Strig
Coriander Leaves A Fistful
Grated Coconut 2 Tablespoons
Salt To Taste
Oil 1/2 Tablespoon

Preparation Method
  • Wash and soak green gram in water for about 4 hours.
  • Drain the water and grind the green gram to a little coarse texture.

  • In a pan add oil, add onion, green chillies and saute for 2 minutes.
  • Add curry leaves, coriander leaves and fry for 2 minutes.

  • Turn off the flame and add the ground green gram, grated coconut, salt and mix everything together.

  • Make small elongated shaped balls with the mixture and steam cook them in a idli vessel.

  • After 7 minutes, turn off the flame and transfer it to the plate. Serve with tomato chutney.

    1. Hi, Sorry for the delayed response. Coconut is optional. If you do not prefer, just omit coconut and prepare with the remaining ingredients. !!
