Spinach thuvattal

Spinach is very healthy food and it is rich in iron. It gets cooked really fast and this recipe can be prepared in less than 10 minutes.


Spinach 1 Bunch
Green Chillies 2 Nos
Onion 1 No (Finely Chopped)
Mustard 1/4 Tablespoon
Cumin 1/2 Tablespoon
Grated coconut 2 Tablespoons
Salt To Taste
Oil 1 Tablespoon

Preparation Method
  1. Wash the spinach thoroughly and chop them into fine pieces.
  2. Heat a pan and add oil. Once it gets hot, add mustard and very little cumin seeds.
  3. Allow it to splutter and then add green chillies and onion and saute them for 2 minutes.
  4. Then add the chopped spinach and cook till the water evaporates completely.
  5. Add salt. In the meantime gridn the coconut with cumin seeds and have it ready.
  6. Finally add the ground coconut mixture to the spinach and turn off the flame.
