Cabbage Poriyal

Cabbage Poriyal is a simple recipe and it goes well with steamed rice, sambar, Kuzhambu or rasam.


Cabbage 1 Cup (Finely Chopped)
Green Chillies 2 Nos (Cut into Pieces)
Curry leaves 1 Strig
Onion 1 No (Finely Chopped)
Grated Coconut 2 Tablespoons
Mustard 1/4 Tablespoon
Cumin Seeds 1/4 Tablespoon
Salt To Taste
Oil 1 Tablespoon

Preparation Method
  1. Heat a pan and add oil. Add Mustard, Cumin seeds and wait for it to splutter.
  2. Add green chillies, curry leaves and onion and saute them well.
  3. After 2 minutes, add cabbage. Mix them well and cook for 5 – 7 minutes by closing it with lid.
  4. Add Salt and mix well and cook for 2 more minutes.
  5. Finally add the grated coconut and turn off the flame.
  6. Transfer it to the serving bowl and have it with hot rice.
