Bun Halwa

Bread Halwa

I stored a packet of bun in my cupboard and completely forgot that. I noticed it when the pack has got two more days to expire. I wanted to make something quick and tasty. Since my hubby is a big fan of sweets, I planned to make some sweet recipe with this bun and here is the recipeSmile

Ingredients

Bun 3 Nos
Milk 1 Cup
Sugar 3/4 Cup
Ghee 2 Tablespoons
Almonds 3 Nos
Cardamom (Optional) A Pinch

Preparation Method
  1. Cut the buns into very small pieces.
  2. Heat a pan and add a tablespoon of ghee. Add the cut bun pieces into the pan and fry them till it slightly changes its colour.
  3. Then add a cup of milk and mix it well it low flame. The Bun will become softer and get mixed with the milk completely. The pieces will start to dissolve.
  4. When the whole milk is completely evaporated, add the sugar and keep mixing continuously adding a pinch of cardamom powder.
  5. Add Ghee little by little and at some point it will reach halwa consistency and will not stick to the pan.
  6. At this stage turn off the flame and transfer it to the bowl.
  7. Cut the almonds into fine pieces and sprinkle it on the top.
