Bread Crumbs Laddu | Bread Crumbs Ladoo


Today morning when I prepared Carrot cheese roll, I cut the four sides of the bread. So I thought of dry roasting the cut portion of the bread and  grind them to use it as bread crumbs. When I ground the roasted bread crumbs, it reminded me of sooji/rava and I was tempted to try laddu with the bread crumbs. I just followed the same recipe like Rava laddu by replacing sooji/rava with bread crumbs. It tasted awesome. I never thought it will be very delicious.. But I am happy that it tasted as good as rava laddu.
Here is the recipe..



Bread sides (Cut out from bread slices) 1 Cup
Sugar 3/4 Cup
Cardamom 3 Nos
Ghee 4 Tablespoons
Cashew 7 – 10 Nos
Raisins 7 – 10 Nos

Preparation Method
  • Heat a pan and dry roast the sides of the bread for 5 – 10 minutes.
  • Once it is cooled down, grind the roasted bread pieces to a fine powder.

  • Measure 1 cup of sugar and add around 3 cardamom.
  • Grind the sugar and cardamom to a fine powder.
  • Mix the ground sugar with the bread crumbs.

  • Heat a pan and add 4 tablespoons of ghee.
  • Roast the cashew and raisins to a light golden brown.

  • Pour the ghee into the mixture along with the roasted cashews and raisins.
  • Mix everything together so that the ghee is spreaded uniformly.

  • Make the mixture in the form of small uniform sized balls when it is warm.
  • Laddu is ready for serving.
