Prawn Thokku Recipe
Prawn thokku is a mouth watering dish and it goes well along with dosa, idli and rice. If it is kept for 2-3 hours after cooking, the flavour of the masala will get into the prawns and tastes even more better. In my family, I am the only person who likes prawn. So I do not make it quite often. When I need to cook something just for me, its when I try some prawn recipes. Prawns get cooked pretty fast and that makes the whole recipe to be done in a short span of time.
Eral Thokku Recipe
Prawn Thokku Recipe Preparation Time : 10 Minutes
Cooking Time       : 20 Minutes
Serves  : 2
Ingredients
Prawns 150 Grams
Onion 1 No (Finely Chopped)
Tomato 1 No (Finely Chopped)
Green Chilli 1 No (Cut into half lengthwise)
Curry Leaves 1 Strig
Corrainder leaves for Garnishing (Finely Chopped)
Chilli Powder 1 Tablespoon
Coriander Powder 1 Tablespoon
Turmeric Powder A Pinch
Fenugreek 1/4 Tablespoon
Mustard 1/4 Tablespoon
Cumin Seeds (Jeera) 1/4 Tablespoon
Salt To Taste
Oil 2 Tablespoons
Preparation Method
Clean the Prawns and wash it with adding a pinch of turmeric powder.
Heat the pan, add oil and then add Mustard, Fenugreek, Cumin seeds and allow it to splutter.
Prawn Thokku Recipe - Step 1
Add curry leaves, Green chilli and onions and saute them till the onion turns to lightly brown colour. Now add tomatoes and mix well by adding salt.
Prawn Thokku Recipe - Step 2
Saute the mixture well by contantly stirring till the oil oozes out of the gravy.At this stage, add turmeric powder, chilli powder and coriander powder and mix them well.
Prawn Thokku Recipe - Step 3
Finally add the prawns and cook them for 7 – 10 minutes.Turn off the flame and transfer it to a bowl and garnish with chopped coriander and serve.
