Mackrel Fish Gravy | Meen Kuzhambu


Mackrel Fish gravy


Ingredients

Mackrel Fish 500 Grams
Onion 1 No (Finely Chopped)
Tomato 2 Nos (Finely Chopped)
Curry leaves A Strig
Fenugreek 1/4 Tablespoon
Mustard 1/4 Tablespoon
Turmeric Powder A Pinch
Chilli Powder 1 Tablespoon
Coriander Powder 2 Tablespoons
Tamarind A small Lemon size
Salt To Taste
Oil 2 Tablespoons

Mackrel Fish Gravy 2

Preparation Method
  1. Clean the fish and cut into equal size slices. Add a pinch of turmeric powder and wash it well.
  2. Extract thick tamarind juice by soaking the tamarind in water for 15 minutes.
  3. Heat a pan and pour oil. Add Mustard and fenugreek and allow it to splutter.
  4. Add curry leaves, onion and saute them well.
  5. Then add the tomato and cook them well by adding little salt.
  6. After 3 minutes, add turmeric powder, chilli powder and coriander powder and mix them well.
  7. Then add the thick tamranid jucie and add enough water for the required consistency.
  8. Add salt to taste and bring it to boil.
  9. When the curry is boiling well, add the fish to that and reduce the flame after a minute.
  10. Cook for 3 – 5 minutes and then turn off the flame.
  11. Transfer to the bowl and serve it with hot steamed rice.
