Beans Poriyal
Green beans stir fry is one of the curries that can be made with minimum number of ingredients.It can be prepared in very different ways which I will be posting shortly. I fee that the time taken to cut the vegetable into fine pieces is more than the time it takes to cook this recipe. Anways, it not only looked good, but taste is also superb. It goes well with Sambar rice.
Here is the recipe!
Green Beans 150 Grams
Onion 1 No (Finely Chopped)
Green Chillies 2 Nos (Cut into half lengthwise)
Grated Coconut 1 Tablespoon
Mustard 1/4 Tablespoon
Cumin Seeds (Jeera) 1/2 Tablespoon
Turmeric Powder A Pinch
Salt To Taste
Oil As Required
Preparation Method
  1. Wash the beans and cut them into small pieces of equal sizes.
  2. Heat a pan and add a tablespoon of oil. Add Mustard & Cumin seeds and wait till it splutters.
  3. Add green chillies & finely chopped onions and saute them well.
  4. Add turmeric powder and then add the cut green beans. Mix well and close the pan for 5 minutes in low flame.
  5. Add salt and mix it and leave it for 5 minutes.
  6. Add Grated Coconut to the cooked beans and stir well. Transfer it to a serving bowl.
